Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina. Owner of Crumblette.

Can you tell us about your business or what you're known for? 

My small business focuses on creating custom cakes for every occasion — birthdays, weddings, baby showers, you name it. Every cake is handcrafted with attention to detail and designed with a passion for baking and decorating.

Please tell us what motivated you to be where you are today:

I am most motivated by my family, friends, and clients (that become friends!). I love being a part of the special moments. It’s rewarding to look back and see all the cakes I’ve designed for my family/friends’ weddings, their kids’ birthdays, and more. Fun fact: I have a friend/client who I’ve made cakes for, every year on her daughter’s birthday. We started at age 2 and now her daughter is 7! I look forward to it every year. :)

What are you most proud of when it comes to your work?

I would say that I am most proud of my attention to detail. A lot of my characters, decorative pieces, and designs are hand-cut and assembled. It’s tedious work, but I get pretty into it, and I love it!

Were there any challenges along the way? How did you overcome it?

So many challenges, haha! A lot of trial and error and a lot of mistakes over the years. To overcome it, I stay focused — i learn how to fix the problem and move on. It’s a continuous journey and I’m constantly learning!

How do you maintain a healthy work/life balance?

I have a mini celebration at the end of every work weekend and I make sure to schedule in mini hiatuses/vacations when I can. :).
